Kingdom Key V3-2

Description

So at long last here it is! My 3rd Kingdom Key made for :iconadolas:
In my opinion, Kingdom key is probably THE HARDEST keyblade to make out of all of them, not for actually difficulty of actually making it, but it’s probably the most difficult one to make accurately. I don’t think I’ve EVER seen a kingdom key that I consider to be absolutely perfect just because there are so many details that people get wrong, or that even conflict in cut scenes and stuff from the game.
There are A LOOOOOOOOOT of things that can be argued as correct or incorrect but if you’re looking to make one, the most common mistakes that I see are things like the thickness of the shaft, people always make it waaaaay too thin, when in reality it’s actually kinda chunky. People almost always make the hilt completely flat or too thin and normally don’t include the upwards slope to the centre at the base of the handle. After looking a little closer at the kingdom key I can say that the rings at the base of the shaft are embedded, not extruded and the holes on either side of the hilt aren’t actual holes and don’t go straight through. Also the Mickey Mouse pendant is rounded and not flat. One of the big problems for me is trying to get the paint right because I still personally maintain that the hilt is yellow, but a lot of the more professional keyblade makers and in the more high rendered, realistic cut scenes, the hilt is more of a golden colour. After actually making it myself though, I can definitely see why some people use the gold because it does look a lot more realistic and metallic. So any way that’s my rant about details over and done with, sorry XD
Like I said this is my 3rd kingdom key and it’s made from layered plywood carved completely by hand with chisels and sanded with a dremel and sand paper. The silver and gold are spray painted and the small blue section was done by hand. I decided to use black vinyl for the handle this time to give it a more realistic look and avoiding leather because…yaknow…the skin of a dead cow doesn’t belong on a keyblade….or anywhere really.
Any thank you so much if you actually read all that and thank you so much to :iconadolas: for letting me make this for you. Please feel free to check out her awesome gallery! :D
